Ranty Rawi ... “You'll own nothing and be happy ...”
Says the whoever fash-shit propagandist is now “hot”. Well, I already own barely anything. And believe it or not, it’s not because of the “degenerate Left”. In fact, when I look at folks who would fit into the “modern Left” box, they own quite a lot. And I mean own not possess. What’s that? I’m toying with words again? Oh yes, for it is slowly but surely becoming one of my favourite mental exercises. There’s a reason people told me I’d make a good lawyer. And this is among the reasons I never will. But enough sidetracking. Let’s dive into this idiotic screech from the “saviour slavers” and tear it apart like a swarm of piranhas.
Alright, let’s establish something first. What is ownership? How would you describe it? What does it mean to you? Having the thing sitting on your desk/cupboard/shelf? Having an access to something anytime you want? If that’s the case, then yes, you own a lot. But what if I one day came in took everything? You’d say: “You can’t do that! It’s mine!” At which point I’d show you a paper stating that everything you “own” was provided to you based on the contract you’re now looking at and it can be taken away without providing a reason. And you know what’s the saddest part? You agreed to it. So, let me ask you again. Do you own any of the things I’m about to take? No, from the legal standpoint you don’t. You possess the things, yes, for they’re physically there and you can manipulated them and use them as intended (I’m not going to dive into the details of this here for it’s not the point). But you don’t own them. You never did.
Do you see the distinction now? Ownership and possession are two vastly different states. Being in possession of something means that it’s available to you and mostly to you. But to own something means that YOU are in control of the object in question. YOU decide when you use it. YOU decide how you use it. That aspect of control is what makes ownership different from possession.
How about an example? Let’s start with something simple, say, a work laptop. Your workplace provides you with a piece of hardware for you to use and even allows you to use it for some private stuff. But do you own it? No, you don’t. Hell, you may not even own anything that’s on the device, depending on company’s policies. But you were in possession of the device, right?
Let’s up the stakes quite a lot. How about a house? You know, the one you’re probably paying the mortgage for? It’s not yours. That’s right, you don’t own it until the very last payment is being done. “But all the documents bear my name! How can I not own it?” you respond. My dear, read the documents properly. Or, even better, let me ask you a simple question. If you truly own it, how can the bank where you pay your mortgage take that house away? See? You never owned it. The bank did. It’s theirs and they can kick you out if they please. And you won’t have the resources to fight an illegal order.
You know, I can go even higher and the life presented me with a series of events that will probably give you nightmares for the rest of your existence. Well, not yours anymore but I’ll get there. You’ve probably seen how the total clusterfuck called UK Online Safety Act. And not even a day after, various examples of “totally secure and trustworthy” implementations being obliterated by tricks that a kid in a kindergarten could come up with. But what’s the scarierst part that there were already data breaches. And that data is full-blown legal information about one’s identity. That’s right, that one thing that you own by default, YOU, has been stripped of ownership. See? You don’t even own yourself anymore. That little piece of plastic that’s your ID? Useless. All of it. Anyone can make it. Anyone can use it. Your humanity, your identity, everything that makes you YOU has been taken away. You’re an object, an asset. Even cattle in a slaughterhouse own more. And who did it? The very people you gave power to to save yourself from “degenerates”.
“You’ll own nothing and be happy,” says the whoever fash-shit propagandist is now “hot”. The same fash-shit who already owns nothing, not even themselves. The same fash-shit who’s nothing more than a slave, an object, a tool to be used. It’s the Left who wants you to own things, to give you control over your life. If not a complete one, at the very least give you some part to influence what’s going to happen and how things can unfold. So whenever someone uses that stupid quote, ask them: “If it’s the ‘deranged Left’ that wants to strip me of things, doesn’t that make you a ‘deranged Leftist’ since you already own nothing? And no, the thing sitting on your table doesn’t count.”
