This one feels to me like it’s been so long overdue and yet it’s so famous. Geralt, our favourite stoic witcher from the novels of Andrzej Sapkowski, further immortalised by the game series where people were able to sprinkle in their own vision of their gritty and sometimes witty monster slayer. If you know the stories and delve into them, you’ll notice quite a lot of allegories of real life issues, many of them very apt for the present day. So which of his quotes we’re going to dissect today? Well, of course the most famous one of them. It’s been mentioned in the books, in the games and even very early in the series (when the series actually cared about the source material). And the quote is:

Wait, what? This is a new headline. Yes, it is. My relatively recent replay of the Mass Effect trilogy, combined with the events of the present kind of planted the idea that I maybe I could put some quotes from well known popular character and think about their meaning in the real world context. And since there are more than plenty of such quotes, that could and often times will be misinterpreted, let’s join the fray. By the way, feel free to chime in with some quote that comes into the mind of yours. The only condition is that I need to know the context, which will often mean I probably need to play the game or watch the movie or series.
